Tuesday, January 14, 2014: A blustery start
Here it is, just two weeks into the new year and it seems that we've already had an entire winter's weather. Over the first five days of the year two feet of snow fell, followed by a dramatic two-day plunge in temperature to the sub-zero teens (as in ten below zero and colder). Then came several days of rapid, progressive warming, so that by the end of the week and over the past weekend we enjoyed highs in the upper thirties, while a great deal of snow and ice slowly melted away.
I suppose flooding will be next, to followed shortly by tornadoes, locusts and volcanic eruptions.
